Clubhouse Overview

The Royal Oak Woman’s Club clubhouse offers a unique blend of historic charm, character, and convenience in the heart of Royal Oak. Dating back to 1839, the clubhouse is the city's oldest building and was originally a Baptist church. Its Tudor-style exterior, surrounded by cottage-inspired landscaping, creates a warm and distinctive setting for gatherings of all kinds. Conveniently located near Woodward Avenue, I-696, and I-75, the clubhouse is easily accessible for guests throughout Metro Detroit.

Upper Level

Filled with natural light from beautiful oversized windows, the carpeted upper level provides an inviting setting for recitals, presentations, intimate wedding ceremonies, memorial services, and other gatherings. A grand piano sits on a small stage, adding to the room’s historic character, while tables and chairs can be arranged to accommodate your event.

Lower Level

The spacious lower level is ideal for meetings, celebrations, dining, and social gatherings. The room features a terrazzo-style floor, fieldstone fireplace, and rustic ceiling beams that highlight the clubhouse’s historic charm. A fully equipped kitchen is available for use, with dishes and flatware available to rent for an additional fee.

One Historic Space, Two Unique Levels

Most clubhouse rentals include access to both levels, giving you flexibility to create the setup that works best for your event. An elevator is accessible from the rear entrance, allowing guests to reach both floors without using stairs. Each level also features a decorative fireplace, restrooms, and coat racks.

The Royal Oak Woman’s Club is proudly operated by volunteers, with no permanent staff on site at the clubhouse. We appreciate your interest and ask that you please allow up to 24 hours for a response to your inquiry.
